Submission Guidelines

Creativitas: Critical Explorations in Literary Studies welcomes submissions of original, unpublished research in English studies and allied disciplines. The journal seeks to promote critical, creative, and interdisciplinary engagements that enrich literary scholarship. All submissions must comply with the following guidelines to ensure consistency, quality, and fairness in the double-blind peer-review process.

  1. General Submission Policy
Submissions to Creativitas must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. The journal adheres to the MLA Ninth Edition for all matters of citation, referencing, and formatting. Every submission follows a two-stage process: authors are first required to submit an abstract for preliminary review, and upon approval, they may proceed with submitting the full manuscript. All correspondence and submissions must be sent to creativitasjournal@gmail.com, with a copy (CC) to sapientia2024@gmail.com.

  2. Abstract Submission
Authors must first submit an abstract of approximately 300 words, accompanied by up to five keywords. The abstract should succinctly convey the research problem, theoretical framework, methodology, and principal argument of the proposed paper. Abstracts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format and sent via email with the subject line: “Abstract Submission for Creativitas (Volume [insert number], Issue [insert number])”. Each abstract will be reviewed by the editorial board for its relevance, originality, and alignment with the journal’s objectives. Authors whose abstracts are approved will be invited to submit their full manuscripts.

  3. Full Manuscript Submission
Full manuscripts should generally range between 4,000 and 7,000 words, inclusive of notes and references. Authors are required to adhere strictly to the MLA Ninth Edition guidelines for formatting, in-text citations, and works cited. Manuscripts must be submitted as Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) files and sent by email with the subject line "Manuscript Submission for Creativitas (Volume [insert number], Issue [insert number])". All manuscripts should be addressed to creativitasjournal@gmail.com, with a copy sent to sapientia2024@gmail.com.

  4. Double-Blind Peer Review and Anonymization
Creativitas follows a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure impartial evaluation. Authors must therefore anonymize their manuscripts carefully before submission. All identifying information—including author names, institutional affiliations, acknowledgments, and biographical details—must be removed from the document. The file’s metadata should also be cleared to prevent disclosure of the author’s identity. Any self-citations should be replaced with neutral references such as “the author” or “this study.” A separate cover page must be submitted as a distinct document, containing the author’s full name, institutional affiliation, ORCID ID (if available), email address, title of the manuscript, and a short biographical note of 50–100 words.

  5. Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Creativitas are subjected to double-blind peer review by at least two qualified reviewers. Submissions are evaluated based on originality, clarity of argument, methodological soundness, and contribution to the discipline. Authors will receive a decision—acceptance, revision, or rejection—within approximately eight to twelve weeks of submission. Where revisions are recommended, authors are expected to respond constructively and resubmit within the stipulated timeframe for final consideration.

  6. Ethical and Editorial Standards
The editorial team of Creativitas upholds the highest standards of academic integrity. All submissions are screened for plagiarism using recognized detection software. Any instance of plagiarism, duplication, or unethical academic conduct will result in immediate rejection. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all sources are properly acknowledged and that any funding, institutional support, or collaboration is transparently cited. The journal follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines to maintain fairness, transparency, and professional conduct in all aspects of publishing.

  7. Correspondence and Queries
For any questions related to submissions, formatting, or the review process, authors are encouraged to contact the editorial team at sapientia2024@gmail.com. The team is available to provide clarification and guidance throughout the submission and review stages.

  8. Frequency and Eligibility
Creativitas is published annually, but submissions are accepted throughout the year. The journal invites contributions from academics, researchers, independent scholars, and postgraduate students working within the broad domains of literary and cultural studies. By maintaining an open and inclusive submission policy, Creativitas seeks to encourage diverse perspectives and foster dialogue across disciplines.
