Book Talk on The Plastic Tagore

Alliance Française du Bengale · April 17, 2025

Creativitas: Critical Explorations in Literary Studies successfully hosted its inaugural academic event, a book talk featuring Professor Ranjan Ghosh's The Plastic Tagore, published by Oxford University Press. The event brought together academics, students, and literary enthusiasts in a vibrant intellectual exchange.

The evening commenced with a welcome address by one of Creativitas' founders, who introduced the publication's mission to advance rigorous research in English studies while fostering intellectual pluralism. Professor Ghosh then presented his innovative scholarly examination of Rabindranath Tagore through contemporary theoretical frameworks, offering fresh interpretative approaches to Tagore's intellectual legacy.

Following the presentation, Dr. Pinaki Dey, Associate Professor of English and graphic designer, engaged Professor Ghosh in an illuminating dialogue that expertly navigated the complexities of the text. The discussion highlighted how Tagore's contributions continue to be recontextualized within our present intellectual landscape.

The event featured a lively Q&A session, allowing audience members to participate in the scholarly discourse. The program concluded with a book signing session, providing attendees an opportunity to interact personally with the author.

This collaborative effort between Creativitas and Alliance Française du Bengale exemplified both organizations' commitment to promoting cross-cultural intellectual exchange. The successful execution of this event marks an auspicious beginning for Creativitas in its mission to create spaces for meaningful academic dialogue and advance diverse scholarly investigations in literary studies.
