Editorial Policies

Editorial Policies
  1. Editorial Philosophy

Creativitas upholds the principles of editorial independence, scholarly rigor, and ethical responsibility in academic publishing. The journal operates as a transparent and merit-based platform that values intellectual integrity, inclusivity, and global collaboration.

The editorial team is dedicated to curating scholarship that advances critical thought in English and cultural studies. Decisions regarding publication are made solely on the basis of academic merit, without influence from institutional, ideological, or commercial interests.

  2. Peer Review Policy

To ensure fairness and scholarly excellence, Creativitas follows a double-blind peer-review process.

    • Every submission is initially assessed by the editorial team for scope relevance and quality.
    • Eligible manuscripts are sent to two or more expert reviewers who evaluate originality, argumentation, and contribution to the field.
    • Reviewers remain anonymous to authors, and authors remain anonymous to reviewers.
    • Final publication decisions rest with the Editor-in-Chief, based on reviewers’ feedback and the journal’s academic standards.

The peer-review process is designed to maintain transparency, objectivity, and confidentiality throughout.

  3. Authorship and Ethical Conduct

Authors submitting to Creativitas must ensure that their work:

    • Is original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
    • Reflects genuine intellectual contribution from all listed authors.
    • Properly acknowledges all sources and avoids plagiarism, falsification, or duplication.

All manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening before review. Any detected misconduct results in immediate rejection and possible blacklisting.

Authors are required to disclose conflicts of interest and confirm adherence to ethical standards in research and publication.

  4. Use of AI and Data Integrity

Creativitas enforces a strict no-AI authorship policy. The use of AI-generated or AI- assisted text, images, or data in manuscripts is prohibited. Authors must affirm that their submissions are entirely the result of human intellectual effort.

Data integrity is paramount. Authors are expected to ensure the accuracy of all cited materials, sources, and research data included in their submissions.

  5. Open Access and Publication Charges

Creativitas is a diamond open-access journal, providing unrestricted access to all published material without financial or technical barriers.

The journal does not charge article processing charges (APCs), submission fees, or publication fees of any kind. Both publication and readership are free, reflecting the journal’s commitment to equitable knowledge dissemination.

  6. Editorial Ethics and Compliance

Creativitas adheres to the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and aligns its practices with the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA).

Ethical responsibilities are shared across all participants:

    • Authors must maintain honesty, originality, and scholarly integrity.
    • Reviewers must uphold confidentiality, impartiality, and professionalism.
    • Editors must ensure transparency, accountability, and respect for author autonomy.

Any allegations of misconduct, conflict of interest, or ethical violation will be investigated in accordance with COPE procedures.

  7. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain full copyright of their published work. Upon acceptance, they grant Creativitas the right of first publication under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license.

This license allows readers to share published work with proper attribution, while prohibiting commercial use and derivative creation. This ensures open accessibility alongside protection of intellectual integrity.

  8. Editorial Independence and Accountability

The editorial board operates with complete independence. Editorial decisions are not influenced by external funding sources, advertising, or institutional affiliations.

Editors and reviewers serve voluntarily and are selected for their scholarly expertise, commitment to academic ethics, and disciplinary representation.

All editorial and administrative decisions, including those concerning publication, policy interpretation, ethical adjudication, and procedural matters, are made under the authority of the Editor-in-Chief. The decision of the Editor-in-Chief is final and binding in all editorial, ethical, and procedural matters pertaining to the journal.

The journal values transparency, diversity, and accountability as cornerstones of its governance structure.

  9. Complaints and Appeals

Creativitas provides authors and reviewers the opportunity to appeal editorial decisions or raise concerns regarding the review process. Complaints are handled confidentially by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the Editorial Advisory Board, following COPE’s recommended best practices.
